About the Study

 

The corridor study will evaluate options for providing enhanced transit service that best meets current and future transportation needs to improve mobility within the study area.

The Study Area extends from State Road (S.R.) 46 in Seminole County to U.S. 1 in Volusia County. This Study began in the summer 2014 and will be completed in March 2017. View the study schedule.

The Study goals include the following.

  • Analyze possible corridors to identify the need for enhanced transit
  • Evaluate options for providing enhanced transit service
  • Achieve community consensus and support for the Recommended Alternative
  • Evaluate opportunities for connectivity with SunRail and other existing or proposed regional transportation projects
  • Evaluate the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of alternatives and their potential to compete nationally for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding
  • Develop information that will result in an implementation strategy for enhanced transit service for review with the River to Sea Transportation Planning Organization, MetroPlan Orlando, and local government agencies
